what do you seek in a collaborative relationship? how can the end result of this creative process become part of a public event?

Re: COLLABORATION
Mon, December 20, 2004 - 8:44 AMI've been thinking about this for a long time - colaboration with other artists. But not a a "well thought out" level....more in a improvidational plain.
I think it would be fun to have a big space - where several or more artist get together.....and work independantly/colaborately on a piece. Meaning - one person start on a piece - and you've got an hour to create - then you must pass it on to the next person....and they have an hour to add....and so on and so on. Maybe pick a topic or theme for the piece....and each person adds what feels right -and ties in their work with the previous artists work......? -

Re: COLLABORATION
Mon, August 14, 2006 - 12:04 PMCollaboration with other Creators
A model for the process whereby
every god synergizes with every other god
to play Cosmos
On the human scale this becomes an initiation
into skillful godplay (a.k.a. the Great Work)
We are so often hyper-focused on our own specific
color of the Light or tone in the Music of the Spheres
that the synergy with other colors and other tones
gets lots in self-absorption, egotism or the clash
between seemingly incompatible aesthetics or belief-games
That is why collaboration is critical...it forces us through this gulf
that seperates one godstart and the next...
there are often Creators who medium is not paint or fabric or performance.
These catalysts perform their art on the space between other Creators
finding the ways to blend or the accent or to contrast or to combine their
individual creative worlds into a larger ecosmosystem or constellation.
I love meeting these people...who can create actual collaboration
rather than a cere mollection or gallery of seperate performances/displays
I have been rumunating over how to do this, but have not yet come up with anything shareable
when i do i will post it -

Re: COLLABORATION
Tue, August 15, 2006 - 9:08 AMthank you arun for putting this in such beautiful words; i nearly wept.
i've been thinking lately that maybe the sharing is as of yet realatively unimportant in comparison with the doing; that the sharing would follow the doing naturally but perhaps only after it reaches a point of completion whereby people outside the creative process can recognize it as something.....valuable? sublime? beautiful? or whatever it is.
